2011-2012 odnny programs
For the 2011-2012 Program Year, ODNNY’s monthly programs center around two main themes. The first theme is “Organizational Development and the Enterprise”. The series of programs making up this theme focus on the convergence of organization development into all aspects of corporations and nonprofits, from technology systems and change management to people systems and flexible structures. The second theme is the “Future of Work”. The series of programs making up this theme focus on the predicted changes that are expected by 2025 and their impact on organizations. The driving forces include the society, globalization, demography, low carbon / sustainability, and technology.

Organizational Development and the Enterprise Series – Service Enterprises and OD
This program provides practitioners with the opportunity to learn about the unique challenges that face nonprofit organizations (managing reduced funding with increases in demand) and provides them with an opportunity to share their OD experience to help resolve some of the most pressing issues. Future of Work Series – Multi-Generational Workplace
This panel discussion will be facilitated by an expert in the field and will feature a panel of representatives of each generation. The session will focus on the implications of multi-generations on the workplace including: communication, use of technology, changing/differing values, career trajectory, and expectations of managers and leaders. This program is scheduled for November 15 starting at 6 PM. More information coming soon!

Organizational Development and the Enterprise Series – Organizational Development and M&A
As organizations develop their 2012-2013 strategies, many are looking to mergers and acquisitions as a way to grow and quickly attain new talent. This program will look at the challenges of merging cultures, talent, leadership styles, and other integration challenges, while preserving the deal value.

Future of Work Series – Sustainability and Organizational Development
This program explores how organizational development can leverage its design principles to drive sustainable effectiveness – economic performance, social justice and cultural diversity, and ecological health.

Organizational Development and the Enterprise Series – The Evolution of Employee Engagement
Everyone wants to be a part of a high performing and engaged organization. This program will examine what makes effective organizations and techniques applied by OD professionals to create environments where individuals/teams thrive.
March 20
Future of Work – The Social/Digital Workplace
The workplace includes the challenges of attracting and retaining digital talent, creating an environment for virtual work and identifying management challenges faced by leaders with non-virtual work experience. This program explores how organizations are transitioning to a virtual / social workplace.
April 17
Organizational Development and the Enterprise Series - Leadership Flexibility and Mindfulness
This program will discuss the role of leaders as strategies, structures and behaviors change. A special emphasis will be placed on leaders in times of significant change (e.g. recession or boom).
May 15
Future of Work Series - The Transformation of Professionals
This program will discuss the changing role of professionals in society and how organizations will need to adapt. Speakers will include thought leaders from corporate, social and government sectors.
