board member biography: mark berns

Mark Berns heads his own consulting firm, Ready About LLC, specializing in technology strategy, organizational effectiveness and change.

Previously, Mark held various positions at Jupitermedia Corp. as Chief Technology Officer he was responsible for all of the company’s technology operations and integrated 100 acquisitions. As Sr. Vice President of Creative & Image Operations he led the organizational redesign of a dozen stock photo agencies into Jupiterimages, the world’s No. 3 stock photo agency. Mark’s experience with acquisitions and organization design at Jupiter sparked his passion for learning about how organizations can function more effectively.

Before joining Jupitermedia, Mark launched an online service for The Associated Press and led product development efforts for the news service’s Technology Department. He switched to Technology after a career as a reporter and editor at AP and newspapers.

Mark has an MS in Positive Organizational Development & Change from Case Western Reserve University.

He’s an avid sailor and enjoys bicycling, hiking and music.
