Join me in taking this invitation: describe a time when your work in OD created a breakthrough moment for you or your clients.
For me it was working on a vision project for African American boys. As we discussed this group's cultural strengths, the concept of resilience was identified. The staff shared personal experiences of resilience. It gave them a powerful concept to shape their work. As for me, I felt honored to be present at this moment of self-discovery. My understanding of this culture was broadened by the experience.
Hi Vince! Thanks so much for the inspiring inquire - I really love that - especially here as we bring the year to a close. For me what comes to mind is work I've done with an organization using group coaching and individual coaching. Through the process of group coaching, previously siloed individuals came together and started to better understand the "whole." And how they are experiencing many of the same things but from different perspectives. This enabled them to move out of a victimized stance and into more proactive and creative stances. Like you, I've felt honored to be present during these conversations. How fortunate we are to be so easily able to see how our work has purpose. Thank you! I'm eager to hear from others on this.
